I. DisciplineIntroduction
Thediscipline of transportation engineering deals with the planning andconstruction of transportation infrastructure, vehicle operation, trafficinformation engineering & control and The transportation modernization &safety technology etc..
Ourdiscipline is one of key subjects in Chongqing. It contains three subjects: vehicleoperation & applications, transportation planning & management andtraffic information engineering &control. The related researches are in vehicleenergy saving and pollution control, vehicle safety and intelligent control,planning and design of Transportation system, management of transportationsystem, transportation economy & logistics engineering, analysis of trafficnetwork, traffic information engineering and control system, Trafficintelligent control technology, ITS technology, traffic information system, integratedtransportation development strategy etc..
II.The objective ofthe program
a. To know thenew development direction and trend of the subject, fully understand the basictheory and professional knowledge in field and have certain experience inexperiment and production.
b. To have good English and Chinese capability to skillfully read and write relatedscience and technology papers and in international academic communication with bothlanguages.
c. To skillfully use the computer, and the relatedsoftware.
d. To have excellent capacity of teachingand scientific research in the related areas.
e. To have good physical and psychologicalquality, professional ethics
III.Educational system and duration
a. Duration for full-time studynormally is three years, no more than four years.
b. All courses should be finished within1.5 years, in which degree courses have to be within one year. And the Cumulativetime in thesis writing should not be less than one year.
c. The student could apply thesis defenseearly if he has finished all the required work, but it should be at least 2.5years after registration.

V. Requirement for the practical educations before thesis defense
a. Professional practice
Every student has to take part some professionalpractices, such as social practice, educational practice and research practicefor at least six months, to get one credit.
b. Public lectures
Every student has to go tolisten at least five public lectures in the university, then to get one credit.
c. Academic activities
Every student has to do atleast one presentation, and take part in at least three seminars, then to get twocredits.
VI. Requirement of credits
The minimum credits in thismaster program is 22 points, in which at least 10 points for degree courses,and four points for practice.
VII. Arrangement about master thesis
a. The thesis proposal should be finishedbefore the end of the third semester, then at least one year later, the studentcan apply for the thesis defense.
b. The thesis should be done instructed by supervisor. The topicand research of the thesis should have the following requirements:
(1)The subject of research should have somenew idea in theoretical and practical application.
(2)The thesis should have enough amount ofworkload and research depth to indicate his ability to engage in scientificresearch or to take on specialized technical work.
(3)The thesis should include the background, method, theoreticalanalysis, experiment and conclusion.
VIII. Other Description
After it obtains requiredcredits, passes through the thesis defense and is verified by the academicdegrees committee of the university, it can get the Master Degree ofengineering and Graduate Diploma of master degree.
